Middleton in Teesdale Big Book Day

The fourth annual Big Book Day in Middleton in Teesdale attracted many visitors to the Masonic Hall on May Day.

The yearly event, organised by Middleton Plus Development Trust, saw a range of book sellers fill the hall with a wide variety of books and prints.

Stallholders included well known local retired vet Neville Turner, local author Rebecca Jenkins whose books include The F.R. Jarrett regency mystery series and Tony and Gill Tiffin who specialise in military books as well as being book fair organisers.

The Village Bookshop in Middleton in Teesdale had such a popular stall at the event that they had to replenish it throughout the day with stock from the shop!

Stock up on the usual range of specialist food and crafts including breads, homemade cakes, specialist meat and cheeses, chocolates, jams and chutneys, free range eggs, ginger products, and fruit and vegetables as well as plants, bird products and silver jewellery.

Stay a while and explore, take a walk, get a bite to eat in one of Middleton’s many cafes, pubs and restaurants or take a trip nearby to High Force, England’s highest single drop waterfall,
